- Anatomy and function of the pelvic floor
- Pelvic girdle pain (includes low back pain, SI joint pain, endometriosis, vulvodynia)
- Painful bladder syndrome (interstitial cystitis), painful intercourse (dyspareunia), urinary incontinence (leakage and/or urgency)
- Constipation/elimination
- Prolapse, diastasis recti, pregnancy and postpartum
- Role of pelvic floor physiotherapist
This yoga class is suitable for women with or without known pelvic floor dysfunction. No yoga experience is necessary. The sessions will include breathing exercises, simple yoga moves for body and pelvic floor awareness, and education. Intake will include a self-assessment of the pelvic floor which will flag issues for follow up by a health care provider. Privacy and discretion are assured.
